A bright smile can increase your confidence levels by several folds. However, many people express concerns about tooth discoloration that is caused due to factors such as aging, excessive consumption of colored foods, improper brushing of teeth, etc. Teeth whitening is a dental procedure used to remove the stains from the teeth to give you a whiter smile. Teeth whitening gel rich in Hydrogen peroxide serves the purpose.

Conventional teeth whitening

This method of teeth whitening is the simplest and most preferred one. When you visit our practice for the consultation, the dentist will thoroughly examine the teeth and determine your candidacy for teeth whitening. The teeth will be cleaned thoroughly, and a rubber dam will be placed on them to cover the gums. The whitening gel will be applied to the teeth and spread evenly. After a few minutes, it will be rinsed off, and the procedure may be repeated if the level of staining is severe.

At-home teeth whitening

In this method, the dentist will take a highly precise mold of your teeth and use it to fabricate whitening trays in a dental laboratory. The trays will be given to you along with a whitening gel, which you can use in the comfort of your home to get whiter teeth. You will have to clean your teeth thoroughly before starting the procedure. Squeeze a small amount of whitening gel on to the tray and spread it evenly. Place the trays on your teeth and let them be for a few minutes. Then remove them and rinse off the gel before you repeat the procedure.

Laser teeth whitening

When patients run on tight schedules and do not have enough time to get their teeth whitened, they can benefit from laser teeth whitening. The dentist will apply a photosensitive whitening gel on the teeth and activate it using a laser. This produces a foam due to the release of oxygen molecules. These molecules penetrate the porous structure of the enamel and remove the staining particles. The procedure can be completed in a short span of time, and the results are impressive.
